Matt, Lindsey, Katie and Ellie Easter morning after pounding lots of candy!

The girls out for a bike ride in this LOVELY spring weather! It is AWESOME!!! :)

This is my FAVORITE thing in my yard.... it only blooms once a year in the spring, but it is a gorgeous yellow rosewood tree... I TRULY miss my flowers. In Cedar City I had tons of flowers and I received so much joy in watching them bloom. The weeding was therapeutic for me and I would go out every day to see which flowers had bloomed that morning. (A love I inherited from my Mom). I especially miss my GORGEOUS daisies! So, here in the middle of the MOJAVE desert, we savor what we can get in the way of color, life and beauty! :)arghhh....

Spring Break

This is Katie and Lindsey. So, here's the low down on what we have been doing over spring break. Matt got to go to Park City with his friends to go skiing. So we had a "girls fest". First we got checked out school early on Friday (because Mom is so nice) and we came home and ate Ellie's easter candy from school and watched August Rush. We do not really recommend this movie. It wasn't that good. Friday night we watched Martian Child. It was good. We liked it. Then, Saturday night we went to the drive in. We saw Horton Hears a Who, we LOVED this one. The drive in was FUN... we also saw Spiderwick. It was NOT so good. I (Katie) read the books -- the movie was TOTALLY different.. We had carmel popcorn, m&ms and sour patch kids... Uncle Rich especially liked those...
Then Sunday was church... we played cards (Skip Bo) at night with MORE carmel popcorn (I guess Mom and Dad are NOT doing the diet anymore?!)
Monday day we watched Nancy Drew (very good). Monday night me,(Lindsey) gave the FHE lesson.. we did scripture mastery scripture chase, it was fun.. I think the winner was... MOM! :)
Tuesday Spencer and Sam came over and played in the morning. We played lots of board games. They are cute! In the afternoon we watched Dan in Real Life (it was just okay, more for grown ups we think), then we went to the park and went running due to all of this lazy movie watching. Then we also watched Pride and Predjudice--we really liked this movie. It was very good.
Wednesday we went to piano lessons, Target, Old Navy and Cafe Rio. We also went running at the park with Maggie. This day we watched Disney's Hercules (we had never seen it before)-- we REALLY LOVED Hercules... we recommend this one. We also watched ENCHANTED -- a great GIRLY movie! :)
Thursday we watched No Reservations(This one was just okay, we did scrapbooking and played Rollercoaster Tycoon and then we watched Mr. Magoriums wonder emporium (this was EXCELLENT)... then we babysat Sam and Spencer... it was fun (other than Spence biting me (Lindsey) in the armpit.)
Friday we colored Easter Eggs with our friends the Jones and got our pictures taken by the amazing Sis. Jones... then we had egg salad sandwiches for lunch, and then we dyed more eggs, and tonight we are going BOWLING! yipee!
Tomorrow night we get to go to a play! YEA! and then Sunday it's Easter! We get to have an Easter Egg hunt and then we are going to have our Easter dinner with Rich, Heidi,Spencer, Sam, Warren, Nikki and Jordan...
It has been a BLAST this week. We have watched TOO many movies, we are all burned out on movies, but it WAS relaxing.
Sunday night we will have the SUNDAY NIGHT BLUES as we call it in our family... But it was fun while it lasted!!!!

THE DRIVE IN MOVIES

We went to the drive in movies on Saturday night. It was lots of fun! We used to go all the time in Provo, but didn't really realize that they had one here in Vegas. It was great fun, though a bit chilly! Rich, Heidi, Nikki and Jordan and the kids came with us and we had lots of fun. We saw Horton hears a Who and The Spiderwick Chronicles! It was fun to put a mattress in the back of the truck and tons of blankets and pillows! YEE HAW! The pictures are a bit blurry, sorry, because it was pitch black outside and I don't know how to work the nighttime setting, but you get the idea! Fun Time!

Spring Cleaning anyone?!?

So, I think I have a bit of "spring fever". This is the time of year that Vegas weather is incredible. We have been enjoying walking the dog, going to the park, jumping on the tramp, playing in the back yard, Matt is doing track and Lindsey and Katie are in soccer again, and YES, I have been doing some spring cleaning. I must say that I really reminded myself of this woman in the photo as I ever so happily cleaned out closets and under beds today...

Not really, but it did feel good. I woke up in sort of a crummy mood, wishing that life were a little easier, less stressful and this was my remedy -- get busy and do something productive-- it worked!

So for those reading, I thought I would encourage you to do some spring cleaning, it really helps to alleviate stress and make you happier! Try it just for kicks!

P.S. Getting dressed up in your Sunday dress and high heels is a must while cleaning....I do it all the time. The results are amazing.

Happy Birthday Ellie!! #6

Today is Ellie's sixth birthday. I cannot believe she is so old! Wow! She is such a special girl and makes us all so happy! Some of her talent/hobbies are bike riding, reading, talking, playing with friends, make believing, drawing/writing, playing on the computer and taking care of the dog.
She is a smartie and loves to be creative. She is quite a conversationalist and has been since a very early age. We love her so much and hope she has a GREAT birthday!

Ellie's 6th Birthday Party!

So, Ellie's birthday isn't until Monday, March 3rd, but she had her party last night. In years past she has invited boys and girls, but this year she insisted on a "GIRLS ONLY" party! She had a lot of fun and her friends were sooo nice to her! Lindsey and Katie were in charge of the games (did a great job!) and we had a pinata (Matt was the pinata holder and got whacked a couple of times), pizza dinner and Ellie asked for cupcakes instead of a cake... it was lots of fun!!!! YEA Ellie! It's so hard to believe that my baby is going to be six years old! WOW!
