News

Lindsey went on her second date last weekend... She got asked to "Save Ferris" at PGHS on a blind date with Riley... (I don't know his last name). She had a lot of fun! :) They made pizzas and played games at the Maglebys (our bishop) and then went to the dance and then had dessert and hot chocolate afterwards. FUN STUFF... 80s theme...

THIS KID has a girlfriend... They made it facebook official, so I get to put it on my blog. Matt and Casey are officially "dating". I don't know exactly what that means... but I think it's pretty dang awesome!! :) SO CUTE TOGETHER! :)

Basketball, flu and first dates

So the past week has been filled with some highs and lows... We'll get the lows over with first..
I got a major case of the flu last week. Monday morning I woke up with a "tickle in my chest" and by the end of the night I had a massive fever, chills, body aches etc... etc... By Tuesday night I started realizing that I was probably joining the epidemic going on in the US right now... and that I had the flu. I honestly don't know when I've ever been more sick. This thing is the PITS. I went to the Dr Wed and he said I had influenza A and maybe H1N1. I started on Tamiflu and it's been a long process... today is Sunday and I still don't feel great. Ugh. The fever and chills and sore throat are gone, but my stomach is iffy and I just feel so weak. This is a BAD ONE. yuck. It's one of those things though that really makes you appreciate something you take for granted. When you can't get up and do the things you're used to doing it makes you really appreciate the simple things in life, like being able to take care of your family, clean your house, cook meals, go to work, be happy etc... Good lesson. I am hoping tomorrow I can get back to life!

So ONTO THE GOOD STUFF!!
Lindsey got her DRIVERS LICENSE on Jan 2!! She was SO excited! I have to admit, it has been AWESOME to have another driver around here!! Now if we only had another car! LOL :)

Then last weekend she got asked out on her first date!! FUN!! She got asked to Bargain Ball by Ammon Nimmer. He put a cute sign up in her room and then balloons and confetti everywhere. She had to pop the balloons to find his name. She answered him by getting a jar of pennies that said "It only makes cents to go to bargain ball with you" and then balloons on it that spelled YES. and then pennies all over his door step :)

ISN'T SHE CUTE!???!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW! Love this girl! This is just before he picked her up - they dressed CRAZY :) So fun! It was a "black light" dance so they all wore really bright colors and neon stuff... He brought her a yellow t-shirt to wear. They went to dinner at a friends house with their whole group of 8 couples, then played games, went to the dance and then had dessert :)

Ellie had been begging me for months to play basketball, December was crazy for me and I just kept putting her off thinking that we had missed the deadline for sign ups. One night we were driving to the store together and she said, "Mom, I REALLY want to play basketball, can you please check and see if I can get on the team?" I felt so bad, realizing that I had kind of brushed her off. Ellie LOVES to be active. She really, really, LOVES sports and doesn't like to sit around. I called her friends Mom and found out that there was still a spot on the team and that the first game was the next day. I hurried and signed her up online that night, went and paid the next morning and by that evening she was playing ball!! :) She loves it!! She is pretty good too! She scored 2 points in her first game and 4 points in her second game!! She is very determined! And super cute too, I might add :)

Just before scoring!! :)

Love her face in this one! :)

HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS

So... I did a TERRIBLE job photographing the Holidays. I was just super busy the whole time... so I stole from family members on FB...It's because it was a bit hectic. My Dad had a knee replacement on Dec. 11th, so I went down to Cedar City on the 14th and stayed for 4 days. A few days later he ended up coming to stay with us for almost 2 weeks. I was so happy to help him!! But it kept me hoppin during the holidays. Plus I worked every single day except for Christmas day and New Years day.

The whole Doxey/Gibson clan was in town (minus Doug and Amber- who we sorely missed!) So the kids were able to party it up for two whole weeks! Skiing, snowmobiling, ice skating, sledding, movies, hanging out, dinners, parties, Christmas gift exchange/nativity, NYE dance party... THE WORKS. It really was a ton of fun! :) I didn't really join in until the NYE dance party... I was bummed. But we had a very Merry Christmas and enjoyed being with family on both sides :)
