FHE in the fall

Isn't it grand??? We decided to head up the canyon for FHE and it was beautiful! :) We headed up to theater in the pines above Aspen Grove and it was so gorgeous! But freezing... we made it a quick lesson, but had a great time being up there in the fresh mountain air and enjoying some time together as a family :)

So Lindsey and Katie went to a Cross Country race in Idaho this past weekend and Lisa and Al and family were so nice ~ they drove 45 min to go and see them! The time for the race got changed and they actually didn't even get to see them run... but they got there right when it ended... SO NICE OF THEM!!! :)
Lindsey got injured about a week and a half ago at the Herriman race... it was super muddy and she hurt her ankle pretty bad, possible stress fracture and tendonitis. She has been going to PT all week because she wanted to go on this XC trip so badly... so she did it! We couldn't believe she was able to run the whole race... thanks to lots of prayers, a priesthood blessing a doctors visit and physical therapy!! :) Katie did great at the race and had a lot of fun on the trip too! They only took the top 20 runners and they were both so worried that they wouldn't make it on the list... but they BOTH did! YEA! SO proud of them! They are awesome!





SUNDAY night stroll up southfork... LOVE IT! Dave, Ellie and I decided to go for a nice walk up the canyon while Lindsey and Katie went to a fireside... it was beautiful and a bit chilly.. but it felt and smelled so good.... a little side story.. on the way back down the canyon all of the sudden Dave said, "Our car just stopped working!!" I was like "WHAT?" Then he said "Oh my gosh! We're out of gas!" Oh mylanta. We didn't even notice the gas tank. We coasted over to the side of the road and turned on our hazards. We were going to try to push it to a spot where we had cell phone coverage when a man pulled up behind us,  he had a gas can on him and put a few gallons in our tank. What a good samaritan! We were super thankful! It got us home! He wouldn't let us pay him. He was SO kind! He saved us. We were so lame and super embarrassed! :/ Sheesh...

Ellie has GREAT friends at school and we are so grateful! She loves living here! Loves Rocky Mtn Elementary and her cute friends! :)

She had a little shin dig the other night at our house... It's seriously hard to believe how fast she is growing up! Jr High next year!! MY BABY!!! :/

HOMECOMING-Lindsey- TIMP

Lindsey got asked to her High School Homecoming too! By Bryce Fredrickson. She was excited for the day date --they went frisbee golfing and then he picked her up in the evening for dinner, pictures and the dance. The bad news is that Lindsey injured her ankle REALLY badly yesterday at the xc meet. So much so that she can barely walk. So she has to wear a brace to the date. She is super disappointed because she wanted to go with the team to Idaho next week and now she may not get to. Tough break:( But that's kind of the way it goes sometimes in sports..

Lindsey Homecoming PG

Lindsey got asked to go to the Pleasant Grove High School Homecoming even though she goes to Timpanogos. A boy in our ward, Jared Davey asked her. She looked beautiful. I am proud of Lindsey on so many levels. She is kind and sweet and is growing up right before our eyes!

Cucumber ???

So I picked out a plant that said "cucumber" at the nursery last spring and planted it... Look what it turned out to be? A delicious CANTALOUPE!!! I love cantaloupe! It's one of my top 5 favorite fruits... maybe top 3. What a bonus. Can I just say that this year my garden has been a dream come true! I don't know why, but it seriously has been AWESOME!! I love it! And I did it all by myself... along with Ellie :) Gardening is great fun and the food is DELISH!

I also canned 27 bottles of tomatoes last week... with more to come! :) It's a great feeling! Not to mention we've been giving away tomatoes left and right all summer :) Brag...brag...brag. Sorry.
