Year in review
2015 was a great year for our family!!! We had some awesome highlights! First of all Baby Jacob was born at the end of 2014- and turned one at the end of 2015! We love this little boy so much! He has brought so much happiness to our family!! I am so thankful for the privilege to watch him! He is a joy! We had a wonderful family vacation to California in July - the last family vacation with us all together for many years! Ellie rocked swim team this summer and then started up again in November after a long break. Ellie has had back pain for over 2 years. She has been going to physical therapy for a lot of years and nothing ever really helped. This year we finally got an MRI and were told she had bulging discs in her lumbar and cervical spine. After about 3 months of complete inactivity we were able to talk to a spinal surgeon (friend of Dan and Julies) and he confirmed that she did not have bulging discs and should just continue her regular activities. What a relief! The pain has become less and she is enjoying swim team once again! Katie finished her last cross country season at Timpanogos High School and did wonderfully. She had Tom and Max as teammates this year. She received the academic all region award and the four year award. She has had great friends on this time in Erin Jackman, Ashley Wangemann and Natalie Mace. She worked all summer at The Italian Place and loved it! Lindsey graduated from Timpanogos High School and Seminary in May! She was a High Honors graduate. She worked at doTerra all summer and then started school at BYU in the fall, moving out and living in Heritage Halls. In September she received her mission call to the Buenos Aires North Argentina mission. She ended her first semester with great grades! She got to have a class with her brother Matt and cousin Cosi! Matt and Casey both worked hard all year in school and their jobs and have been a light in our family living so close by! Leslie was lucky enough to go to NYC with her "sistahs" in September on a spur of the moment trip and then she and Dave went to Maui, Hawaii in November with Cheri, Bry, Cosi, Mark and Debbie and Rob for an epic adventure! I also quit working which has been so nice!!! I have worked a total of 20 of the last 26 years! We were able to do some motorcycle trips, camping, skiing, waterskiing, family reunions, concerts and lots of other wonderful events throughout the year. It was truly a great year! We have been so richly blessed.

Jacobs First Birthday!
Poor little Jakey was so sick on his birthday as you can see from the photos! Can't believe this little super star is one!! We love him so much! He is a delight! He had a fun party at his house with his family, us, and Matt and Casey's friends. He got a train, some clothes and a ninja turtle bike :)

The Holiday Season
Lindsey came home from BYU after finals on the 18th. We took some moving out shots of her and her roommates, she had a great experience there, learned a lot!
Matt and Casey headed to Las Vegas to visit the Ross family.
We tried to pack in some fun during the 2 week break!
We saw the new Star Wars movie with Grandpa, had Christmas Eve dinner at our house with the Bertoch family. Scott, Abbey, LeeAnn, Dale, Nathan, Chase, Lisa, Al, Collin, Maddie, James, Anthony, and Jason.
The girls and I broke our backs one day and hauled the ping pong table from the basement up to Katie's room which will be transforming into the game room soon... and we took advantage and played lots of ping pong over the holidays.
We watched lots of movies, made lots of good food and ate it, went skiing, shopping, hung out with the Doxey/Gibsons multiple times for dinners, BYU games, wrapped presents, dessert nights and did all of Lindsey's missionary shopping, got her shots and everything all ready to go!

Lindsey and I decided to start the break of right with a nice run Saturday morning! Love to run with my girls! :) |
Dave had carpal tunnel surgery a few days before Christmas because we met our deductible this year! He was so glad to get it done so he could sleep at night without his left arm falling asleep! |

Thanksgiving 2015
I was kind of lame and didn't take any pictures at Thanksgiving this year except a few... Here are the missionaries from this year
Me Katie and Lindsey tried to start the day out right with a Turkey Trot of our own. |
A couple of days after Thanksgiving Carol took us all to Walmart where we could each pick out a family gift from her :) It was lots of fun! |

Lindsey goes through the temple and has a birthday!
Lindsey went through the temple for her own endowment on Nov. 14, 2015 in preparation for her mission. It was an awesome night. Matt and Casey were able to join us and we were so grateful to be in the temple with our sweet kids. Casey has more photos on her camera, I need to get them from her!
I love this girl so so much! |
THEN SHE turned 19 on December 8, 2015!
We went to dinner with the whole family at PF Changs. She got mainly mission stuff.. .it was a little bit of a bummer birthday because she was sick and in the middle of finals at BYU :/ |

HAWAII!!
So... we were SUPER spoiled and got to go to Hawaii (Maui) with Debbie, Rob, Cosi, Mark, Cheri and Bry! We planned it six months in advance and it was AWESOME! So much fun!
The trip was full of lots of fun and excitement! We stayed in a gorgeous house in Wailea and did lots of fun stuff. We did an awesome hike the first day over lots of rocks (I was still in an ankle brace so it was a little rough), through trees, up a ladder, over a waterfall, swimming through pools. It was awesome! Then we had a day at the beach snorkeling and swimming, lots and lots of trips to an awesome little restaurant called "Coconuts" tons of fish tacos that were delicious, another hike over a lava field to a beautiful coast - a bit dissapointing when we couldn't get in because the tide was too high, up to the huge volcano, it was freezing there! but you could see the big island from the top, then another hike to a beautiful canyon, we got to see the first church in Maui on Sunday, lots of movie watching and running/walking. Key lime pie, playing pirate dice, a delicious expensive divine restaurant called Mamas fish house... it was great, shave ice, paddle boarding, boogie boarding etc.. etc.. fun times! It is SO beautiful there! Hawaii is truly paradise!
On the plane~ so excited to get outta here!! :) |
