I have been going through sort of a rough patch recently- emotionally, physically and spiritually and I just wanted to share that I am so thankful that Heavenly Father shows his love for us all the time, even when we don't feel like we are particularly at our best. He has shown his love for me lately through the following opportunities:
1. Our wards primary program. I LOVE the primary program each year. Ours was last Sunday and it was really wonderful to see my three little girls up there on the stand giving their parts and singing those beautiful songs. It touched my heart to see the beauty of children and their innocence and love for the Lord.
2. The General RS broadcast. OH! How I needed this! Every word that was said felt like it was just for me. I especially LOVED Elder Uchtdorf's talk - it spoke peace to my heart that I really needed. I hope you enjoy this quote as much as I did -- Thanks Nikki!! :)
3. A Stake YW training last night. My stake YW president, Sis. Deaver, is such an eloquent speaker and gave such a motivational talk last night. I came home with a new resolve to be a better leader, mother, wife and daughter of God.
I am so thankful to belong to this church where we receive these "LIFTS" that we need. It is so great to be able to have these opportunities to get spiritually fed and receive the reminders I need so often to keep on trying, to have faith, to work harder and to love myself and others more! WE CAN DO IT!!!! I can't wait for general conference!!! :)

Thank you, Leslie! I totally feel the same way. Someone asked me recently if there was a quote that helps me through hard times and I was thinking exactly what you just wrote about. There isn't one quote because it seems like Heavenly Father speaks to me the uplifting and encouraging things I need from so many different places when I'm in need of that. Your experience this week is the perfect example. I appreciate that you write so openly from your heart on your blog. It is a blessing to those of us who read it.
Thanks for your comment. It made me laugh. Don't feel bad - I didn't guess them either. To ease your curiosity, it's "a shadow" and "silence". ;)
I don't know how people survive without the Gospel. I need reminders to put daily living into an eternal perspective; my attitude, relationships & aspirations would be completely deflated without the Gospel!
dude the relief society broadcast was sooo good! I think EVERY woman i know needed to hear Uchtdorf's talk! it was awesome.
sorry i'm blog/facebook dead...i'm sooo busy!! As soon as i get a chance i'm going to write my blog... :)love your guts!
i miss you!!!!
Man, I really need to be more serious as a blogger. I loved the quote and loved the broadcast also. We need to be uplifted but I really am uplifted when I uplift someone. I love my friends who uplift me just by seeing them or hearing their voice. take care
So true - we are blessed in the church to hear motivational, faith inspiring messages on a regular basis. He does love us!!!
Well said, Leslie. I, too, echo your comments. I really needed to hear the words spoken to us last Saturday.
You are such an amazing woman, Les, and a great example. I'm so blessed to have you as family!
If you get to feeling bad, know that there is someone in Cedar City who still thinks about you and wishes you were across the street still. I think you are so great and fun. You and Dave both. You've yet to be replaced as fun friends- you guys were the best.
Leslie, Sorry to hear you've been feeling down lately. I wish I was there to share a pick-me-up from Cheesecake Factory with you...I also loved the RS meeting and that quote - thanks for sharing. I may hijack it for my blog, if you don't mind!?
I think you're amazing. You are one of the best moms I know and I truly appreciate your great example to me!
