Recent Events with our KIDS!

LINDSEY'S FINAL ORCHESTRA CONCERT
Lindsey had her final orchestra concert of the year. She has done so well on the violin this year and we are so proud of her! It has been very fun to watch her learning this new talent! She is great at it! The concert sounded great and she looked as cute as a button!!

Katie's Dare Graduation
Katie had her DARE graduation -- I was so proud of her- one thing that is great is that we learn all these things at church ever since we are teeny tiny and it is awesome to know the importance of the Word of Wisdom! I cannot believe that Katie is soon graduating from 5th grade-- she is growing up so fast! I am proud of what a great girl she is! We love her so much!

Senior Awards Night
Monday night was the Senior Awards Night at Matt's school. It was a great night honoring all of the students who had achieved academic excellence throughout their 4 years of High School. We were so impressed with the wonderful kids that were recognized.  All of Matt's best (senior) friends were there being commended. It has been such a great thing that Matt has had such great friends during his HS years!

AND Last but not least-- ELLIE! The greatest supporter of all of these events! Ellie was at all of these things supporting her brother and sisters! Thanks for being a good sport! You are the cutest/sweetest/smartest/funniest little sister ever!! :)

I know... it's only rock-n-roll, but I like it, like it YES WE DO!

So-- we took our girls (Lindsey and Katie) to their first ROCK concert!!! We got super duper cheap tickets to the above groups- all in concert together -- it was great! I think Dave and I got more of a kick out of watching the girls reaction than to actually watching the concert...

Yeah, a bunch of washed up 80's bands-- but it was still a KICK in the pants! We had a lot of fun! Rich and Heidi came along and also Matt and a bunch of his friends (who sat all the way across the arena from us)... It was super fun! But a reminder that we are OLD!!! These songs are so old AND our ears hurt so bad by the time we left-- we knew we were in our 40s for sure after this concert! :) Ha ha! Fun times!

SPONTANEOUS

Friday night Dave and I got home from work and were talking... "what do you want to do tonight? I don't know, rent a movie? Go to the park?" Our kids were bored and we were bored and felt like we do the SAME THING every single weekend-- PLUS it was my first weekend off in 3 weeks - so we got a crazy spontaneous adventurous idea and said, "LETS GO TO THE BEACH!!!" So we called Emily & Chad and asked if we could crash on their floor Friday night and they said YES! Yea! THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU GUYS! You were awesome! We packed in 30 minutes and headed down the freeway! YEE HAW! It was so much fun and a much needed break for us all! We got to Emily and Chad's apartment after midnight- blew up the air mattresses, visited a little bit and then crashed! Bright and early Saturday we headed to Santa Monica beach and hit the waves! It was so much fun! We all had boogie boards and were in the ocean for 7 solid hours of fun in the sun!! It was awesome! We got home at 11:30 p.m. and literally flopped into bed.  Matt said, "I laid in bed flat on my face without a pillow and thought, I should really roll onto my back it would be more comfortable- he woke up at 2 a.m. in the same position" That pretty much sums up how tired we were! Thankfully we have LATE church so we slept in WAY late! It was AWESOME! We all came back a little bit fried~ but nothing a couple of days hasn't fixed! Sunday morning I woke up to a beautiful spring bouquet of flowers and a sweet card from Dave, a hilarious poem from Matt, a beautiful slideshow from Lindsey, a darling cement yard paver Katie made with her handprint in it, and a card and DARLING photo from Ellie that she made at school! YEA!!! Thank you so much to my great kids and husband! I had a wonderful Mother's Day and an OUTSTANDING weekend!
