December happenings...

SOOOOOOOOO sad that I haven't had my camera at the last few events... but I wanted to document them anyway!

Last week was the Cross Country Banquet for Lindsey and Katie. So proud of these two girls for their awesome hard work this year! They really pushed themselves and now actually say that "they love to run"! Yea!! They both received the academic athlete award at the banquet! Way to go girls! Here's some pics they were given at the banquet...

Katie had her Christmas orchestra concert on the same night as the XC banquet and did so well!! I love seeing her play the cello! I just feel so badly that I didn't have my camera

Lindsey and Katie played in a string group yesterday at church for the ward. I wasn't able to be there, but I hear that it was great!

Matt finished his finals last week!! HOORAH!! Another semester down! I think he is officially a junior-woot!woot! He did very well and we are proud of him for his dedication and hard work.  He and Trey will be moving out of our basement and down to Liberty Square in 2 weeks. We will miss them.

I have been in Cedar City for the past 5 days taking care of my Dad. He had his right knee replaced. He is making great improvements. He is pretty amazing- tough as nails at age 82 :)

Ellie has her class Christmas party this week and I am going to try HARD to get some pictures!! These 3 girls can hardly wait for Christmas break! They have been so slammed with homework the last 3 weeks!

Only 9 days til Christmas!! :))

SWEET SIXTEEN!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDSEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We let Lindsey open her presents right when she woke up in the morning... she got this lovely scarf... and a new Sunday outfit :)

We went to dinner at Mama Chu's... it was FAB :)

Then we went to the BYU/Utah game for Lindsey's Bday celebration. It was her activity of choice. She is becoming a Cougar basketball fan! :) It was a fun game!!  Even though we were in the nosebleeds:) A real nail biter!

This was the final score... It was a great game! :) Love living close enough to go to these games! So fun!! :)

Lindsey ordered a homemade Cheesecake for her Bday cake. I have to say... it was delish!

Dave looks a bit scary in this one... haha... it was a little sad seeing those 16 candles... Where has the time gone? I remember when this cutie pie was a baby like it was yesterday! What a joy Lindsey has been. We love her so much! She has been the peacemaker of our family and we all appreciate her sweet/kind nature so much!! HAPPY 16th!!! So exciting that she will be driving and dating this year!!! FUN TIMES!!!!!! :)

Thanksgiving 2012

Thanksgiving is awesome! :)
We decided we better move our bodies Thanksgiving morning so Cheri and I arranged a little family Turkey Trot... All the kids plus Cheri and Rob ran it.. Dave and I walked it, Bry rode his bike and long boarded, Brynne biked, and Kendy walked, biked, boarded it :) It felt good! And of course,  a fun time was had by all! :)

The crew getting ready for the Turkey Trot!!

Matt, Lindsey, Alyson and Katie lookin good! :)

Oh yeah!
We missed Cosi and Deb who are recovering from surgery :(

Lookin good Cher! And Bry on a skateboard? Who knew? Skills. And here's Kendy bringing up the rear on her bike... not usual for this awesome runner... she's dealing with a knee injury... bummer.

This year we had the Bertoch Clan at our house... everyone was here but David's family... we missed them! It has been a REALLY long time since my whole family has been together for a Holiday. I felt inspired a few months ago to have Thanksgiving at my house this year and it was a really nice time! :) We decided to play a little H-O-R-S-E while we waited for everyone to arrive, with Jason's family... it was lots of fun! :) Look at this sweet shot by Dave! :)

Bummer... but we had 4 tables set up and it was an awesome spread with Rolls and pies by LeeAnn, pies by Lisa, Sweet potatoes, salad and green beans by Jalene, turkey, stuffing, cheese balls, potatoes, gravy, jello by me and drinks & ice cream by Julie! :) We had a nice time. I didn't get any pics of Scott and Pam or Tim and Jalene... BUMMER....

First snow of the season!

While I freely admit that I HATE to drive in the snow and live in fear of being stuck at the bottom of our street or the bottom of our ridiculous driveway... I have to say that I think snow is  BEAUTIFUL!

Later in the day....

Some of our tree branches got so heavy that they broke, we had to go out with a big stick and shake all the snow off!
The world is gorgeous white! Heavenly Father really gave us a great gift with the change of the seasons! I missed having a real change of seasons so much when we lived in Vegas. I think it's one of my most favorite things about being back in Utah. I couldn't resist snapping a few quick photos of the snow today!! Each month has something fun and new to celebrate and I love November to really think about my blessings... it's the best! Looking forward to Thanksgiving with my family!!! :)
