Don't know what ya got till it's gone!
I have had my BOSCH mixer for 20 years (I seriously cannot believe I am old enough to say I have owned something like a mixer for 20 years- sad!) and it finally bit the dust a few months ago! I have MISSED it SEVERELY!I always knew I LOVED my BOSCH, but this has been a big eye opener to how MUCH I used this thing!!!
LONG STORY SHORT:after several attempts to send it up with family/friends and because of all of my medical/surgical issues in October and November I just didn't have the energy to deal with getting it mailed to Utah (which is the only place that repairs them)....SO I thought I would just take it up with us in December.. well it was a 2 week repair job and we had gone home before then. After $179 to repair it I don't want to pay $50 to have it mailed-- SOooooooo I am waiting until someone in one of our families comes down down to Vegas again!

I couldn't take it anymore-- I had to borrow my friend Jamie's Bosch -- and since Lindsey got out of school early today we spent the whole afternoon baking...

We made 2 batches of bread, a batch of chocolate chip cookie dough to freeze, a batch of sugar cookies to eat, and a batch of peanut butter cookies (per Matt's request) for Trey and the missionaries this afternoon! YEA! It felt so good to be baking again- like a REAL woman!(ha ha ha!) Thanks Jamie!!! Hopefully we will not TOTALLY PIG out on this food- I made a lot to try to freeze it and make it last until I get the BOSCH back!

HEAD COLD
Is anyone else having a hard time getting back into the SWING of things after the Christmas break? Last week was a long one. Poor Ellie cried for a solid hour this morning because she didn't want to go to school today. It's times like that when I want to revert to being my mother and say, "it's okay, you can stay home with me" But I have to be tough and MAKE her go! I felt bad for her, but I know when she comes home this afternoon she will be over it and have had a great day!
Lindsey gave her first talk yesterday in sacrament and did an AMAZING job! She was awesome. We had a good weekend, went to the temple ( it was PACKED-- I think everyone had set a New Year's resolution to go more often), had "A brand new year celebration for the YM/YW on Sat night-- then Sunday we had meetings/ church/dinner w/Rich & Heidi. It was supreme.
Here's to a BRAND NEW WEEK!! Are ya ready?!?!!!

OUR WINTER BREAK/VACATION
We have had such a wonderful Christmas break, it is seriously hard to see it come to an end. We started the first week of the break off on Monday with a trip to the eye doctor, we all have good eyes (except Matt of course) Yea! Then we went to the Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix. Lindsey won a package that was worth $98 for free (for being student of the month). Then Tuesday was Dave's office party, and Lindsey's first babysitting gig with Spencer and Sam, it was fun for her! By the way, Lindsey is a FULL FLEDGED babysitter now for anyone looking for a GREAT babysitter! Then Wednesday was Christmas Eve. We went and saw BOLT 3D, it was cute, and then came home to have our feast, which was appetizers and desserts this year. After that we did a great Christmas program complete with assignments from Dave for each of us to do a musical number and a reading. Then we watched "It's a Wonderful Life" and went to bed anxiously awaiting Santa... and guess what? He came!!!! The kids had a wonderful Christmas and after we cleaned up we took off for Cedar City around 3 p.m. We got there in time to have Christmas dinner with my Dad, LeeAnn, Nathan, Scott, Pam, Abbey, Kelsey, Sarah and Steve. We spent 2 days there and enjoyed seeing Grandpa again! Then on Saturday we headed up to PROVO. We did a lot of fun things while we were there including sledding, skiing, snow shoeing, playing games, a GIANT family gift exchange, movies, jacuzzi, puzzles, ping pong, gingerbread houses, many dinners, We even got to have dinner with Tim, Jalene, Sydney, Mike, Sam, Kristi, Dave and kids and LeeAnn and Dale, and then our awesome 10th ANNUAL New Year's Eve Family Dance!!! It was really a great time! Even though 31 people had the stomach flu and barfed all over Cheri and Debbie's houses, we managed to still have a BLAST! Thanks to Cheri& Bry and Debbie & Rob for their hospitality as usual, and for being such good sports! Dave and I were commenting on the way home how lucky we and our kids are to be able to have so much fun on our Christmas breaks- a whole week of playing and being with our family! It's AWESOME!!! It was a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR... Here are a few pics of the fun.
