IHF (I heart fall)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE fall! It is the BEST season ever. Spring is a close second.... but Fall is just awesome! Especially when you live in Vegas. It's such a welcomed break from the awful summer heat! Then the HOLIDAYS!! Yea! I love the Holiday seasons! Starting with Halloween clear through til New Years it's just a PARTY!! :)
Here's some of our fall festivities:

GARDEN UPDATE: So far so good on the fall garden! We are crossing our fingers that the sun will shine for a few more weeks to get our tomatoes RED and that our zucchini won't freeze! Our beets and cabbage are really the best veggies for the fall so we have great hope for them! :)

PUMPKIN CARVING at it's finest... This was our FHE activity Monday... gotta love it! Dave is always the pumpkin carver in our family... I am not really great at it and I have loved that he has just taken over and done this every year with the kids! :)

Tennis Lessons part deux

Lindsey, Katie and Ellie just completed their second set of tennis lessons. They are doing great. They have improved so much! Katie and Lindsey joined the tennis club at school. Ellie and Katie got new rackets. Sorry these pictures are HIDEOUS and blurry. I was having ISSUES trying to take pictures that night. They start their third set of lessons tonight with a new coach! We are excited!

Haunted house

Lindsey and Ellie worked all day to make a Haunted House out of our upstairs on Saturday. When I got home from work Sat night my heart melted as I saw their hard work and the excitement in their eyes. What a blessing kids are!!!!!!

The haunted house was complete with spooky signs, spooky music, dummies, spooky lighting, wet noodles we had to walk on in bare feet in the dark, shaving cream, a blast of hot air in our faces, water on Dave and Lindsey, Dave with a basket on his head, lots of grabbing of ankles and screaming! ha ha! It was so much fun! Having Collin here made it EVEN MORE fun! We went through over and over and over... :)

Lindsey made this cake for Sunday dinner ... from scratch! Delish!
Katie and Ellie were being spazzy making "super-hero" masks and capes... Lol!
NJHS inauguration... Lindsey and Katie were inducted as members of the National Jr. Honors Society. We were so proud of them. They are great girls! Lindsey got to play in a little string quartet during the reception. She did great! Here are some pictures of Lindsey and Katie with their friends who are also in NJHS. Fun stuff!

From Mateo

Saturday we got an email from Matt's mission president saying he got to Cape Town safe and sound... Then we got an email this morning from Matt! YEA! I have always seen/heard these missionary Mom's talk about getting an email etc... and never really appreciated HOW MUCH they mean!! It is like someone just came up and gave you the biggest hug ever!!! It seriously made me sooo happy today. I don't know why, but this weekend I was feeling kind of blue all weekend. . . I LOVED conference -- wish I could read all the talks right this minute again... but for some reason it was just the mood I was in all weekend, so this morning when I woke up at 6 am and found pictures and a LONG email from Matt I just felt so great! He was only able to email us about 10 minutes from the MTC and now he gets an hour! I am so glad! He sounds so good, happy and healthy! DON'T FORGET TO CHECK OUT HIS MISSION BLOG FOR ALL THE LATEST AND GREATEST FROM So. AFRICA at elderdoxey.blogspot.com

We went out Saturday in between conference sessions to play tennis... it was getting a little windy when we left... by the time we got to the courts it had started to rain a little... we decided to go ahead and play anyway... finally we were caught in a massive down pour. It was GREAT! Playing in tennis in the rain is quite fun!! It's a great sport we can all do as a family and this time it was extra refreshing! The girls are getting better all the time! :) I will be posting some great tennis lesson shots soon! :)
