The latest...not the greatest

We had to get rid of this doggie:I would like to say that we're REALLY sad... BUT THE TRUTH is... we only miss her a little bit. I knew that having a dog wasn't really my favorite... but since she's been gone I have realized I LOVE not having a dog. Does that make me a bad person!?! DOES IT?! I feel slightly guilty but here is my TOP TEN list of what I DON'T miss about Maggie:
1. shredded toilet paper all over the floor
2. leaves/grass drug in
3. the doggie door
4. the gate into our kitchen
5. her running outside and having to chase her
6. occasional "accidents" on the floor.
7. her water/food dish
8. Her getting into the dirty clothes and shredding them.
9. The mess in the back yard.
10. Buying dog food.
I'M MEAN HUH!?!? Dave is the only one who REALLY misses her, that's because he is the NICE one in the family... we all know it's true. :)

SCIENCE FAIR:
Ellie gets to do the science fair this year. She chose to do the experiment where you try to get a hard boiled egg into a bottle by putting a match into it! It worked! She had fun doing this with her sisters one Saturday while I was at work. Love it! :) Science can be fun!

Nathan's Baptism`

The girls, grandpa and I made a quick weekend dash up to Provo for Nathans Baptism on Friday. (Dave had to stay home to do the Stake Merit Badge Pow Wow) We love Nathan! He is such a cute little boy. It was a wonderful baptism/confirmation. The girls really enjoyed the break and a little taste of Utah. They played in the snow like they had never seen the stuff before... it was so cute! We had a nice visit with the Asay's, got to see the Boman's for a little while, got some awesome fresh fruit and veggies to bring home, held the guinea pig, got to see the Youngs for about 30 minutes, and took some pretty pictures of a sunset on the way home! Thanks for the good time Asays! :)

NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS

This year I am really excited about my New Years Resolutions....

I sort of hate to make them all public and such, because it's always a bummer when you do and everyone knows about them...and then you fail... etc.... So even though I am scared, I am doing this anyway....

I just have to say that one of the GREAT things about life is that we can CHANGE!! We can improve, do better and overcome ourselves. We may try, try, try and fail repeatedly, but I think that every little bit helps and it's so motivating and fun to set goals and TRY again!!

Here are some (not so subtle) hints on what I am working on!

I AM SO EXCITED!!!! Wish me luck!!! :P

THE HOLIDAY RECAP

IN A NUTSHELL-
Christmas Eve... We played "Minute to Win it" all afternoon... it was awesome.. (thanks for organizing it Lindsey)then we cooked our deluxe ham dinner and ate it.... it was awesome! Then we did our family talent show, the nativity and went to bed.
Christmas Day- Up at 5:30 a.m. - opened our gifts. 7:30- phone call from Matt!! It was WONDERFUL!! We absolutely loved it!! We got to talk for 1 1/2 hours and were able to hear more details about his mission. He is doing great and is so happy. It was SO SO SO good to hear his voice and get to talk with him! Then we played with our new toys and took naps and then had our annual appetizer feast. YUM!
We were able to do lots of fun things during the break! Here are a few random things we did during the two weeks off. It was so great to have Dave home so much!! Went to the park and played with our new volleyball/badminton set, went ice skating, Leslie and Dave Date night to dinner and a movie, played with the wii LOTS, played board games, watched all our new DVDs, went to the park and laid on the grass and watched the clouds roll by.... it was great! We had such a nice time!
New Years Eve- Lindsey and Maddie hit up the Regional NYE dance and Dave chaperoned it.- Katie and Ellie threw a bash at our house- I laid upstairs in my bed and listened to the giggling girls all night since I worked that day and was beat!!
New Years Day- Put away the Christmas stuff, cleaned out some closets, out with the old-in with the new!! Watched football and played wii, delish steak dinner with grandpa!
We had a GREAT break!! This morning it was hard to see it end! But we sure did love it while it lasted!!!
Here's some of the action -- lots of pics!! :P
