Give me your...

So, life has settled down a bit for us now and summertime BOREDOM has set in for the kids...
SOOooo to all my VEGAS buddies especially~ what the heck do you do here in this blistering heat to keep your kids active and having fun!?!?
I would love any CREATIVE ideas! I have tried the old "I have plenty of work for you to do" but that is not going over so well...I am looking for both physically & mentally stimulating activities for kids!! (cheap too, would be good).
ALSO ~ what do you do here for fun on the 4th of JULY? Last year was our first time staying here for the 4th and it was a bit dull... So I would just LOVE to hear from ya'all! Thanks!!!
p.s. Sorry to seem so negative~ I am just at a loss on this one today!

EMILY'S WEDDING, EFY, and first vacation of the summer

We had a great trip last week! Matt went to EFY with Scott and Zach at the U of U, and had a great time...he got to hang out with the cousins on both weekends, and then came to the wedding for a couple hours on Thursday night.
We were able to play with the cousins NONSTOP and hang with the aunts and uncles for NINE days! It was so much fun! We couldn't get enough of the late nights and the partying! We did lots of fun things... went to Temple square, the church history museum, Heritage park, Lion House pantry, did some AWESOME slip and sliding, dancing, birthday parties, a bridal shower, movies, TONS of good food, some wonderful family sealings at the temple, golfing, and much much more! It was the bomb! We had so much fun! It was awesome! We came home so exhausted~ the true sign of a great vacation! We miss all of you so much already! You are all AMAZING, wonderful people!! Thanks so much to Debbie and Rob for their hospitality and to Cheri and Bry for their amazing house (especially the non-locking bathroom door!)/yard/parties etc... It was simply AWESOME! :)

Lindsey's 5th grade graduation- and end of school year parties!

Lindsey graduated from elementary school today! WoW! I have to say, that yesterday being the last day of school was sort of sad for me... Even though I cannot wait for the kids to be home full time, I just can't believe how my babies are all growing up. Lindsey going to Jr. High is a KILLER, and then Matt will be a SENIOR, Kate in her last year of Elementary and Ellie in FIRST grade! BOO HOO!!

Here are some phtos of Lindsey's graduation. We were proud of her for acheiving the "Presidential Award" for having over a 3.5 GPA for 4th and 5th grade and for scoring well on her CRTs. She also had a wonderful class this year and made some great new friends... it was her best year ever and she is so sad to leave. She LOVED her teacher Ms. Wright SOOoooo much! She was wonderful. We are so excited that Katie gets her next year!!

The girls decided at the last minute to have a little party for the last day of school and it turned out to be lots of fun...

Here are the girls on their last day with all three of them at Sheila Tarr, this is the last time all three of them will be in the same school!!

As soon as the girls party was over, Matt called and asked if his friends could come over.... they polished the cookies and candy, had a cage match on the tramp, and then told some hilarious "Chuck Norris" jokes that had me laughing hysterically!

MATT'S BED!

So, Matt brought home his wood shop project that he had been working on all year last week. It is a solid walnut queen sized bed! It is gorgeous! He did a great job on it! These poor quality pictures don't really do it justice. By the end of High School he will have a full bedroom set. He made the nightstand last year, the bed this year and next year he is making the dresser and chest of drawers! I am so proud of him ~ I keep telling him how much his future wife will love the fact that they have a NICE bedroom set right off the bat! He has definitely inherited Dave's love of woodworking and the talent of it too! :)

We were so proud of Ellie at her kindergarten graduation! She has had a great year and has grown so much academically and socially. We love her and think she is the cutest kindergartner ever! :)"My name is Ellie Doxey and when I grow up I want to be a teacher"
